FCC to DMA: Pretty, Pretty Please?

DM News: FCC Asks DMA to Reconsider Sharing No-Call List

Having already rejected the Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) plaintive request to give it a copy of the Do-Not-Call Registry, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) has been asked yet again by the FCC to consider sharing its copy. The FCC said it can assure the DMA that the Federal Trade Commission would not levy any punishments on the DMA or its members for sharing the list. The DMA, with a figurative smirk, had previously told the FCC that it feared it would be violating rules by giving the government a copy of the list that could well put many of its member companies out of business.
