FCC to Allow Video IM, Porn Marketers Rejoice

Washington Post: FCC to Allow Video on AOL Messenger

Following its merger with Time-Warner, AOL had been restricted from allowing video to be transmitted through its AOL Instant Messenger. Now, millions of teens can view each other while chatting, as they do already with Yahoo Messenger. AOL will also be able to promote its video content through the channel. Of course, porn marketers - ever ready to jump on anything AOL - will also seek to promote all kinds of illicit junk to unsuspecting IM'ers.
