PaidContent: FastClick.com Gets Whopping $75 Million; Investors Include Disney Arm

Fastclick.com announced a $75 million private equity round, lead by VC firm Highland Capital Partners and Oak Investment Partners. A Disney venture arm also participated. Fastclick's network includes 7,500 sites that get visits from 80 million individuals in a month. When the pre-Google initial public offering market conditions for IPOs seemed to be bleak, many net firms began pursuing VC funding instead. Often a final round of VC funding can help a firm win a good IPO deal, as the well-connected venture executives are incented to help the firm win backing from major investment banks.
