Social-networking sites are evolving from general interest destinations, such as MySpace, to cater to an ever-growing field of niche interests, from fashion to food.

Two such sites cater to "foodies" - those interested in cooking and gastronomy. According to PSFK, BakeSpace has a recipe-search feature and cooking-discussion forums, while FoodCandy features foodie blogs.

Then there's IQONS, an international social-networking site devoted to the fashion industry.

According to PSFK (via TrendCentral), IQONS serves not only as a platform for indie designers to show off their wares but also as a style ecosystem where everyone from retailers, makeup artists and photographers to editors, publicists and financiers can display their work and connect.
