Facebook Elicits Assistance for Global Dominance

The Translations application

Facebook has launched Translations, an app that enables users to help translate the social network's features into over 20 languages.

AllFacebook says over 15,000 phrases need translating across approved languages, but the effort doesn't lack for manpower: More than 2800 people helped translate the site to three languages in testing.

The Translations app was publicly released after the successful three-language beta. As of January, rival MySpace was available in 23 countries.
