Facebook's recently introduced new ad and design options show promise for both advertisers—and for Facebook itself as it continues to grab more market share in this space.
The Dr. Pepper Story
One brand, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, tried out the Reach Generator when it was in beta, Reuters reports–ensuring that a post on its brand page will be promoted to its fans in multiple places on the social network.
The post reached 83% of Dr. Pepper's 11 million Facebook fans over a 28-day period. The number of users who "liked" the post was 80% higher than normal.
Small Businesses Too
Small businesses, as well, are eager to try Facebook—and not just for general marketing but specifically to generate sales on their Facebook sites. According to a new survey by Payvment, Facebook Ads are the top promotional tool for sellers beyond general Facebook marketing.
More than one-third (39%) of respondents report having used Facebook Ads, making this the most prevalent marketing tactic used by sellers to drive traffic to their stores beyond general Facebook marketing — such as promotions and deals posted to their wall — and nearly 70% of respondents say they plan to use Facebook Ads again.
