Despite an increasing frenzy of digital connectivity, a survey by Country Crock's "Dish on Get Togethers" finds approximately 76 percent of US adults seek time with friends and family at home: playing board games, pursuing hobbies and getting together to watch TV, according to a press release.
Driving the radical trend are younger Americans. 31 percent of those aged 18-34 get together several times a week or more.
Friends are seen more often than immediate or extended family. Socializing with co-workers outside the workplace is also popular, with 67 percent of men and 55 percent of women doing so.
The need to socialize is also moving in on the prep time in the kitchen. 50 percent surveyed are seeking faster food prep options. The survey polled 2,758 Americans 18 or older online in the name of Country Crock's Deluxe Side Dishes.
