Expo Communications has launched ExpoTV, a site that will allow users to post product reviews in video form - and potentially share in ad revenue from their submissions.
ExpoTV users will be allowed to post one- to three-minute "videopinions" on a wide range of consumer products, ClickZ reports. The site's community can then comment on and rate the usefulness of each review. Beginning this month, each top vote getter will receive one cent for every time his/her video is viewed.
While reviewers are free to review what they want, videos will be closely watched for inappropriate content, a move that will appease parents and advertisers. Performance-based banners and links, with pre-roll ads expected later this month, are the advertising formats olanned for ExpoTV, which has content distribution deals with AOL Video, Google Video and About.com.
