Expedia, US Airways Break Links

USA Today: US Airways pulls out of Expedia listings

usair.jpg

Expedia nearly doubled the booking fees for US Airways over Thanksgiving, so US Airways is taking its flights off the travel site. USA Today presents a balanced version of the story compared with how others are reporting it.

Poynter's E-Media Tidbits provides a darker spin, reporting the fees were jacked because US Airways wouldn't advertise on Expedia.

An Expedia boycott - suggested in the Poynter item - might be overkill, but the airline does deserve some props for not bowing to pressure. Granted, a decent online ad campaign could only help US Airways now. Perhaps they can take the inspiration and run with it.
