E-Tailers Unhappy with E-Commerce Platforms

Nearly half of online retailers expect to switch to different e-commerce platforms within two years, according to a new survey report from e-commerce platform provider Venda and the e-Tailing Group, reports Internet Retailer. Some 82 percent said they use home-grown or buy-and-build technology, and half of those expressed some dissatisfaction with their solutions, and 29 percent said they won't likely to use the same e-commerce solution again.

The survey also found that 40 percent of retailers spend more than $1 million annually on e-commerce technology and operations, with 39 percent of those saying they have received good value from their current systems and 36 percent saying their service was "a mixed bag."
