Espotting, a UK-based paid placement service that recently announced plans to merge with FindWhat, committed one of the classic acts of I-PR stupidity today: emailing hundreds of journalists the same press release with everyone's email address in the CC field. That's so 1995, I must take this opportunity to humiliate them.

As a journalist and analyst in this space for many years, I've seen this same mistake dozens of times, but it never ceases to amaze me. I hope the PR buffoon behind this gaffe got a good spanking. Not only did they put all the names in the CC field, and not only did they send the release to more than 350 recipients this way, but it was a completely nothing press release, merely about the fact that they've added some staff members (Fascinating!).

I'm not going to reward them by linking to the dumb release in question, but I happily offer them further ignominy by reprinting below all of names of the journalists who now think their PR folks are morons:
