A new eMarketer report on wireless marketing paints three potential scenarios, the most optimistic of them showing mobile marketing failing to gain even a tenth of the marketing dollars five years from now that the internet currently enjoys today. The scenarios suggest growth rates that would give in five years gross spending of between a quarter of a billion dollars and three quarters of a billion dollars annually. The analysis anticipates a big buzz generated in the next two years, some overspending, a market pullback and finally a more rational and even rate of spending.
