Email Marketing Recipients Delete, not Unsubscribe

MarketingSherpa: New Survey Data: US Consumers Reveal They Only Want to Get Email From an Average of 16 Mailers Each

Newsletter and email marketing subscribers don't seem to be bothering to unsubscribe, but rather delete their unwanted publications along with their daily spam, according to a Quris study. Some other findings include the following:

  • 45 percent of the study's subjects said that they'd stopped doing business with a company because of poor email marketing practices.

  • Email recipients want to deal with an average of only 16 senders in any given day.
