Executive Summary: SpamAssassin Picking on @d:tech
It is amusing to me sometimes how many marketers don't realize that sometimes good intentions end up in the worst executions.
For example, Rick points out that @d:Tech's emails are now getting filtered by his ISP as spam by SpamAssassin (and the use of these spam-filters will only grow folks).
Anne Holland's EmailSherpa is a fantastic resource for marketers that are trying to use email to get their message across to people. Just this week she's been doing a test to see how words affect spam filters, and I believe she'll continue testing and reporting in the future, so if you want to be informed, subscribe to EmailSherpa's all-volunteer test panel, and subscribe to EmailSherpa too…
From the latest EmailSherpa:
Yes, we're starting an email test panel to learn and report on results from. For example, we might test rich media or transactive emails, or multiple words that filters dislike.
All results will be publicly available at no charge in our issues. We *won't* send any commercial messages, ads or any other type of non-test content to you whatsoever.
If you're interested, here's where to sign up. Please don't sign up anyone besides yourself (to anything, ever.)
