One political agency said email is "dwarfing" online advertising, especially now that databases have become sophisticated enough to match email addresses with street-level information, such as name, address, party affiliation and even voting record. The key objectives for many email campaign are voter registration, getting people to vote early via absentee ballots and, of course, fundraising.
