ElectricArtists Produces Directory of Brands on Twitter

Brand management firm ElectricArtists launched Trackingtwitter, a site that tracks media, entertainment and consumer product accounts on the microblogging site.

Trackingtwitter follows Zappos, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Jet Blue and Comcast, among others. It broadcasts the category ("sports," "television," etc.), the companies' Twitter usernames, number of followers, most recent tweet and any personal notes ElectricArtists' team has gathered about them.

For example, a note for the Dunkin' Donuts account reads, "Love how affable the Dunkin guys are."

"[We're] always asking the questions, 'Who has been using Twitter most effectively? and 'Whose feeds should I follow?'," stated CEO Marc Schiller, "and so we built a tool for our staff to follow Twitter feeds in different categories […] What we decided to do is just make it public because Twitter doesn't really have a good directory."

Twitter recently secured $35 million in Series C financing from a number of VCs. The three-year-old company is under pressure to develop a profitable business plan.

Founder Todd Dagres of one investing firm, Spark Capital, recently stated, "There is a biz model that has yet to be implemented [on Twitter]. Of course, I can't guarantee it's going to work."
