Internet Retailer: Online retail spending gets another big boost
Hot on the heels of a more than 50 percent boost, comScore announced that the week ending October 3 saw even bigger e-commerce increases, with revenues shooting up 61 percent. Internet sales hit $1.46 billion, in a week during which Shoppertrak reported generally flat retail sales.
Those last two weeks of the quarter didn't quite make up for lost growth seen at during most of Q3 2004. The quarter registered 26 percent growth over last year, the second quarter in a row that e-commerce growth slowed significantly relative to quarters past.
Online Travel sales posted 31 percent gains to $1.22 billion.
