eBay Taking Toll on Newspaper Classifieds

E&P (via PaidContent): New Report Confirms Online Sites Are Cutting Into Papers' Classified Ads

A Classified Intelligence study shows that the effects of eBay and other auction sites are finally taking a toll on newspaper classifieds. Two thirds of newspapers surveyed admitted they'd felt a "major" or "moderate" effect from online competition. As a result, newspapers are lowering listings rates and launching their own online classifieds.
