A federal appellate court upheld most of an earlier ruling that held eBay violated a set of MercExchange patents with its "Buy it Now" feature. The court also upheld most of the damages, reducing the amount set as initial damages to $25 million, down from about $30 million. Damages ocurring since that point in time, however, may exceed $100 million. eBay released a statement indicating it believes it can work around the patent, according to Internet Retailer.
