Internet Retailer: With merchandise sales up 42%, the eBay juggernaut continues

eBay grew another 42 percent over last year's second quarter, selling $8 billion of stuff, with an increasing proportion of it being sold through its "buy it now" option, taking these goods out of its auction system. More than a quarter of its sales came from non-auction purchases. It also added yet another category to its existing 11 that sold more that a billion dollars of goods in a year: eBay welcomed cameras & photo to its lengthening list.
