Among "The Web's Worst Download Disasters," at least according to the blog of software startup SiteAdvisor, is software bundled with packages from adware leaders WhenU and 180solutions, writes MediaPost. SiteAdvisor says it tested more than 140,000 programs and found that the following five scored worst among adware/spyware: EntertainmentWallPaper.com, Ratloaf.com, WarezClient.com, Adroz.com, and MyFavoriteGames.com. Two of the programs were bundled with 180solutions, and one was bundled with WhenU.

"A million Websites and 140,000 download tests later, I can say with confidence that there are some great programs to be downloaded out there," wrote SiteAdvisor's Shane Keats. "I can say with equal confidence that there's also plenty of train wrecks waiting to happen to your PC."

WhenU and 180solutions have both made efforts to rehabilitate their own reputation as well as that of adware, writes MediaPost.
