Federal prosecutors say that DoubleClick was the victim of a Colombo crime family mob kickback scheme, where a former office manager accepted kickbacks for hiring a mob-controlled construction firm. That firm then allegedly double-billed the Internet company and had the office manager approve a "no-show" job that allowed a mob minion to collect an unearned salary. Francis Altieri was fired as DoubleClick's office manager last year as a result of the initial probe.
