MediaPost: DoubleClick Goes DoubleDown!
In this MediaPost interview by Madison Avenue Consultants President Tim McHale, DoubleClick CEO Kevin Ryan discusses DoubleClick's shift from a sales focused organization to an organization that is fast becoming the industry standard technology platform for the online advertising market.
The interview is standard-yet-informative fare, but when asked neutrally by McHale about the "desktop application" market, Ryan eschewed the glossy label, responding, "You're talking about the Gator-type market?" To which McHale restated, "Desktop applications. What do you think?" Continuing to shun the generalized term, Ryan finally answers, "We don't really work with those Gator-type companies. We work with the publishers directly."
