Doubleclick Provides Free Video Ad Serving

Freemium Video Serving

Google's Doubleclick division is starting to offer free video ad serving, taking yet more oxygen out of the online ad services industry. The new offering started yesterday afternoon.

In addition to offering the trafficking functions associated with Dart for Publishers (DFP), Google/Doubleclick is making it easy for publishers to strip in Google Adsense video content into the unsold avails, effectively giving Google a fairly large new channel in which to stuff its existing cheap video ad inventory.

Video serving is free up to 400,000 ad impressions per month, and is entirely free through April 2013 as a trial. Serving for numbers above that will be for what Doubleclick terms "a nominal fee."
