Ad Age: 48.4 MILLION PHONE NUMBERS ENTERED IN DO-NOT-CALL LIST
Soon it may prove more efficient to have a National Call These Few Numbers Registry. Somewhere between two fifths to a half of all U.S. households have already registered for the National Do Not Call Registry, indicating an enthusiastic political force behind the anti-telemarketing measure.
While legal arguments are already being formed to attempt to thwart the implementation of the list, the sheer quantity of the support behind the measure indicates it will be difficult to permanently fend off. With about 1,500 phone numbers registered each second, there is little the anti-telemarketer camp couldn't pass, even if it takes an election cycle or two.
