'Do Not Call List' Proves More Popular than Expected

Chicago Business: 'Do not call' entries flood FTC

The FTC predicted that in the first year they would register 60 million phone numbers on their 'Do not call list." Although you can currently only register via the internet, four days in they have collected 10 million phone numbers.

I'm guessing that a 'do not email list' would be similarly popular if it were ever to be introduced. Regardless, this is yet another reminder that marketing at people in an unsolicited intrusive fashion is becoming an increasingly difficult/pointless thing to do.
