U.K. spending on display ads leaped nine percent from March 2006 to 2007, reports eMarketer.
The numbers just include display ads and not search or classifieds. All media saw an overall five percent increase.
Results from GroupM, which include all forms of online advertising, predict overall spending will rise 36 percent in 2007. That's second only to mobile advertising, where spending is expected to rise 66.7 percent.
An eMarketer analyst says real growth is yet to come since marketers haven't fully maximized the potential in online advertising.
