Discovery, Activision Jump into … Animal Gaming?

Cable company Discovery Communications is partnering with Activision, the second largest US game publisher, to make animal-themed games for a handful of consoles.
Discovery will join one of the fastest growing segements of the entertainment industry. The effort also represents part of its strategy to be more like a content company and less like a cable company, according to Reuters.


Game titles will be tied to Discovery's Animal Planet channel, which airs shows like "Meerkat Manor" and "Orangutan Island."
