Digitas's first-quarter fee revenue increased 21 percent to $97.2 million, compared with $80.3 million a year ago, and net income rose 40 percent to $14.5 million, up from $10.4 million a year ago, reports AdWeek. The growth of digital channels has expanded Digtas's work for clients, according to the agency, with IBM having begun video podcasting and Cingular making forays into MySpace and Facebook.
During the quarter, AT&T added Digitas to its roster, and Digitas just won the Home Depot interactive and direct marketing account.
Digitas alsobought Philadelphia-based interactive agency Medical Broadcasting Company, expanding its pharmaceutical and medical business with clients such as Wyeth and Astra Zeneca. Pharma accounted for 13 percent of Q1 revenues.
