A detailed article looking at the different challenges currently facing Google. Whilst the information here is accurate, it is presented in a negatively biased context. Personally I don't buy the doom and gloom scenario where Google turns into another Altavista. I think that they are too savvy to allow that to happen. More to the point their brand is far more entrenched in main stream conscience that AltaVista's ever was, plus they know what business they are in.
