PoynterOnline's David Carlson covers predictions from Forty Media for web design in 2005, including (finally) the expected retreat of "retro" sites and the increasing deviation from the standard "5-piece" design. Unfortunately, the predictions peg the color of the year being brown. But then again, Forty Media is in Arizona, so maybe they're wrong on that one.
