MediaPost: Dell Computer Company Tops In Online Ads
Dell Computer advertised the most online in the summer quarter, showing about 5 billion online impressions, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. It just edged out InterActive Corporation, the holding company for several major web brands, including Expedia and Ticketmaster. AT&T Wireless, Netflix and LowerMyBills.com all bought more than 4 billion impressions in that period. A NetRatings executive said that the major brands were hewing to banners, rather than intrusive formats like pop-ups, but that second-tier brands continued apace with exploitation of the more annoying formats.
