Dell to Sponsor CBS Wallstrip, Takes Small Jabs at Apple

All that sass

Dell Computers has signed a branded entertainment deal with CBS' sassy financial online show WallStrip, reports Mediaweek.

The deal has Dell products appearing in episodes of the financial news show, which takes a less serious tone and has a younger audience than more serious programming. CBS brought the show, which had been running for a while, under its corporate umbrella in May of this year.

In the first episode of the deal, host Lindsay Campbell's Apple computer exploded and was instantly replaced by a Dell, a significant move in an ongoing Mac v. Dell advertising war.

Weeks ago, Apple ran an ad for its new Mac which included a comparison to a similar Dell desktop. Reporting on the piece, Nuacco.com noted that "While new iMac designs looks just incredible, they forgot to draw their huge power supply unit on the picture."
