According to Reuters, a judge has now delayed a decision in allowing Google to implement its plan to digitize many out-of-print or copyrighted titles.
Publishers and authors who once supported the $125 million deal have now echoed concerns by the U.S. Department Of Justice about potential antitrust issues.
The outcry against the deal is also being heard overseas where French publishers expressed similar worries.
Currently, Google has scanned and digitized close to 10 million books, but reportedly doing so without first securing the rights to those titles.
Instead of the regularly scheduled trial date, a "status conference" is planned to determine how the case should proceed.
