Daylife Garners $8M in Second Round

News aggregator site Daylife has drawn $8 million in its second round of funding, with investors that include Arts Alliance Digital Ventures and Balderton Capital, according to Mashable.

Daylife, which went beta in early 2007, provides a means for searching "premium" content that has been hand-picked by the site. Users can bookmark their preferred destinations for future reference.

Content is divvied into searchable items like quotes, articles, timelines and images, with related information provided for a more well-rounded browsing experience.

The service has seen little community activity, in great part because it encourages little user input. Profile-holders can only display items that they have saved with no visible way to submit new sites to the Daylife index, though suggestions are accepted.

New York Times Co., an investor for the first round, also invested in this one.
