Omnicom Group's Diversified Agency Services has purchased promotions shop Colangelo; financial terms were not disclosed.
Colangelo's areas of specialty include online and offline promotions, interactive services, direct marketing, special events, point-of-sale efforts and package design, AdWeek reports. Among Colangelo's clients are Diageo, Kraft, Schick and Trojan.
Colangelo will become part of a network of 175 companies - such as GMR, Javelin, Ketchum and Rapp Collins - under the Diversified Agency Services umbrella. The acquisition comes days after Omnicom reported a Q3 net income increase of 9.5 percent, to $177 million, on a 10 percent gain in revenue (nearly $2.8 billion), versus the year-earlier period.
The Colangelo acquisition comes after DAS bought St. Louis ad agency Rodgers/Townsend and digital shop EVB in San Francisco in the third quarter.
