DaimlerChrysler Portals a 'Dynamic Doorway' into Auto Shows

DaimlerChrysler is preparing an online promotion for this season's auto shows, with Organic creating three portals showcasing the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep brands, reports ClickZ. The sites will aggregate news and images from carmakers, media sites and blogs; the portal team will also author its own blogs. "We can put the news, press releases, photos and vehicle reveals into one process," Organic's Director of Engineering, John Manoogian, is quoted as saying. "We've created a dynamic doorway into the auto show."

Visitors to the sites can also subscribe to various RSS feeds.

The campaign has a mobile element, as well. Signage at the shows will prompt visitors to dial-in for audio (which can be downloaded to MP3 players) discussing a car's features. The mobile promotion will also be used at dealerships.

Another tie-in is the "behind the wheel" online videos. Drivers on an all-terrain trail at the show will be filmed, and the video uploaded to the websites.
