The Crain suite
Crain Communications, publisher of trade pubs like Advertising Age, B2B and Creativity Online, has cut 50 editorial positions.
It also shuttered the print edition of Financial Week, with the Dec. 7 issue being its last, writes paidContent (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Crain employs about 1,000 people.
Meanwhile, TechTarget is cutting 76 full-time staffers and closing two of its print magazines, Storage and Information Security.
The downsizing arrives on the heels of a great many other media industry layoffs. Digitas, Yahoo, Gannett, NBCU and Viacom recently set clippers to their workforces; Gawker, Nielsen (which owns AdWeek, Brandweek and Mediaweek, among others), and the Financial Times also slimmed down.
