Crackle Snaps Up Ad Deals, Pops for Syndicating Content

But what of Snap and Pop?

Sony's Crackle.com has announced its first slate of high-profile advertisers for its syndicated video, reports MediaPost.

The site, previously known as Grouper, is one among many contenders in the high-quality video market, with a mix of professional and professional-level video content.

Advertisers such as Pepsi, Epson, Vodafone and Sony itself have signed on to sponsor different its channels. Honda, for instance, will sponsor the Shorts Channel. HD video on Crackle will be sponsored by Sony Electronics.

Pepsi previously announced it would sponsor Crackle's Minisode Network, a venture of Sony Pictures Television.

Minisode Network programming is syndicated to a number of online channels. Pepsi will use that sponsorship to run a retro campaign that fits with the old TV shows that are featured there.

Sony is working with a number of high-profile ad agencies and networks to customize advertising to international markets.

The company asserts that syndication of its content to a number of other sites such as AOL, MySpace and more provides advertisers a high-quality and high-reach opportunity.
