The offending ad copy was - "Internet Treasure Chest will give you everything you need to start a Web business for the unbelievable price of only $59.95" and went onto claim that purchaser could earn upto $200,000.

I appreciate that this will come as a shock, however it turns out that this was false advertising, and that purchaser was subsequently asked to buy more equipment, in some cases rising to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Anyhow, it looks like the FTC has come to the rescue, with the court finding in favour of their claim, and ordering End70 Corporation to submit all future advertising to them for approval. The court has also frozen End70's assets pending further legal action.

With so many websites, newsletters, email lists etc. and so many opportunities to advertise, the FTC is going to be hard pushed to do much about false advertising online. Still it is nice to see them having a go.
