Coupons on CDs Sent to Shoppers

A company that sends out printable coupons on CD is expanding its mailings to the entire country after a regional test, reports MediaPost.
SaverCD has been testing its coupons-via-CD program in the Northwest for a year-and-a-half and is ready to go nationwide. CDs are sent out quarterly. Some 700 advertisers have signed on, including regional and national companies.

The company positions the CDs as being more environmentally friendly than traditional direct mailings. Consumers who get them only print out the coupons they're interested in.

Advertisers are also finding that about eight percent of CD recipients subsequently go online and visit their websites or otherwise conduct product research.
