Consumers Give Search Engines High Marks

Consumers give high marks to search engines according to an annual Harris Interactive poll of U.S. adults who were asked which industries do a good or bad job of serving consumers, eMarketer reports. The highest scores were for supermarkets, though, with search engines coming in seventh. Attitudes toward online businesses varied. ISPs and online retailers scored much lower than search engines. At the bottom of the scale was the oil industry, the only one to score worse than last year.
