From Sony's Nov. 17 U.S. launch of a paltry 150,000 units of its PS3, the company has bounced back, pushing 1 million of the next-generation systems onto store shelves, beating out PS2 launch numbers, reports Next Generation, a gaming news site.
At the same time, at a recent conference, Microsoft's Bill Gates claimed victory in the console wars, which rage on between Nintendo's Wii, Microsoft's Xbox 360, and Sony's PS3.
Microsoft sold 10.4 million units in 2006, beating out its goal of 10 million. Meanwhile the Nintendo Wii sold 1.3 million units in the U.S. since its November launch.
