Conde Nast Snaps Up Ars Technica

Tech blog Ars Technica has been absorbed by Conde Nast and will become part of Wired Digital, MediaBuyerPlanner reports. An official announcement of the sale is expected next week.

Figures were not disclosed, but the acquisition was pegged around $25 million, about what Conde Nast paid for Wired.com in 2006.

Ars Technica founders Ken "Caesar" Fisher and Jon "Hannibal" Stokes will remain with the company as it is integrated with Wired, as will their 8 or so employees.

comScore says Ars Technica serves 1.5 million monthly unique visitors and four million page views, but TechCrunch says the actual number is closer to 4.5 million.

CondeNet will take over ad sales from Federated Media Publishing.
