Conde Nast's Flip.com is undergoing a major strategy shift.
The year-old social networking site aimed at teen girls will move from being a web destination to becoming an application that will run on social-networking sites, writes MediaBuyerPlanner (via Mediaweek).
Though Flip reaches over 300,000 teen girls (according to Conde Nast), the move may be a signal that the site did not generate the kind of growth it was hoping for.
"There are millions of potential Flip fans on Facebook and on other social-networking sites. This is the right moment to follow our audience and engage them at the primary spots where they are spending their time," CondeNet president Sarah Chubb is quoted as saying.
