DM News: ComScore Starts Online Survey Unit
With a goal of tapping into its 1.5 million panel members, comScore will launch a survey division, joining the ranks of other companies, like Claria (formerly Gator) in starting to reap significant marketshare in an industry that was once dominated by telephone surveys. The recent implementation of the Do-Not-Call Registry has severely crimped that sector, although telemarketing and survey firms do continue to claim there is an implied research exemption. comScore will use email and pop-ups to conduct recruitment and research.
