Online retail sales in the first quarter totaled $24.2 billion, 25.4 percent more than in the year-ago period, writes Internet Retailer, citing the latest adjusted e-commerce figures from the U.S. Department of Commerce Census Bureau. Those online sales amounted to 2.7 percent of all first-quarter retail sales of $976.1 billion. Unadjusted online sales figures in the first quarter were $25.4 billion, up 25.6 percent from 1Q05.
