Comcast has snuck its Fancast video portal into beta testing before the full launch, according to a source.
Fancast is meant to be an all-encompassing entertainment media site. That would include video on demand and other content, as well as television programming guides.
The beta testing site also lends a peek into personalization features, including program and movie ratings. Users will be able to glean recommendations based on how they rate what they've already seen.
One feature that remains unavailable is full-length episode streaming. Part of that will come from the unnamed venture between News Corp and NBC Universal, but some will come from other shows that Comcast, as a cable operator, has access to.
