As expected, CNN.com launched its ad-supported, free video news service - but two days ahead of schedule - paidcontent reported over the weekend. Officially scheduled to go on line today, the CNN free video service features clips in 14 categories and plans to offer some 30 new clips per day. CNN will launch a subscription service later this year that will provide live video news reports and access to a video archive. MediaPost reports that Chase and General Motors are the initial sponsors of the free video site, which is engaged in "upfront" talks with more than 50 advertisers.
