The flagship 24-hour cable news channel CNN continues to lose ratings even as its companion website grows steadily, reports AdAge.
Traffic to CNN.com has surged 25 percent this past April compared to one year ago, bringing in 26 million unique users. In addition to that there are now 90 million subscribers to CNN Mobile. The TV station, though, just rebounded to 431,000 viewers per month, up from a low of 383,000 las year.
Those ratings figures are paralleled by ad income. While revenue has grown for CNN.com to $71.4 million since 2003, TV revenue has dropped 11 percent to $378.5 million in the same period.
CNN President Jim Walton stated he simply wants people to turn to CNN, regardless of which platform they choose.
